Michael B. Jones
Michael B. Jones is a trial attorney with over 12 years of experience litigating cases in state and federal court. His practice focuses on civil trial work with an emphasis on products liability, premises liability, railroad litigation and commercial disputes.
Mr. Jones has successfully defended dozens of product manufacturers, premises owners, commercial construction companies and highway contractors in wrongful death and catastrophic injury cases. Mr. Jones also serves as Texas counsel for a national chain of travel centers, representing them in cases across Texas arising from trucking accidents and premises liability claims.
A significant portion of Mr. Jones' practice is dedicated to the representation of railroads in personal injury cases, with an emphasis on claims under the Federal Employers Liability Act and grade crossing accidents
Mr. Jones has also represented numerous companies and individuals in a variety of commercial disputes. He has represented banks in foreclosure proceedings, real estate investors in financial disputes, and consumers in DTPA and breach of contract actions.
Before joining The Wolf Law Firm, P.C., Mr. Jones practiced law for nine years with Thompson, Coe, Cousins & Irons, L.L.P. in Dallas, first as an associate and then as a partner. Mr. Jones also served one year as the Briefing Attorney to the Honorable Tim Taft, Justice, First Court of Appeals, Texas. In 2007, Mr. Jones was named a Texas Rising Star by Texas Monthly magazine.
Mr. Jones is admitted to practice in all Texas state courts, all United States District Courts in Texas, and the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. He received his law degree, cum laude, from South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas in 1997 and was on the Dean's List four semesters. Other honors include the Order of Barristers, Phi Delta Phi Award in Payment Systems, and the Corpus Juris Secundum Award in Property Law. Mr. Jones also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government from the University of Texas at Austin. Mr. Jones is a member of the Dallas Bar Association, the Tarrant County Bar Association, and the American Bar Association, and the National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel.
