Todd C. Donohue
Todd C. Donohue is a 16-year trial attorney with extensive experience litigating cases in state and federal trial and appellate courts. He has represented clients in business disputes, franchise litigation, asset purchase agreements, misappropriated investments, oil and gas disputes, personal injury/wrongful death matters, patent litigation, misappropriation of trade secret cases, governmental investigations, commercial lease disputes, nuisance actions, insurance coverage and bad faith litigation, banking litigation, construction litigation, product liability matters and premises liability cases. Mr. Donohue has served clients in a number of industries including oil and gas, construction, engineering and procurement, accounting, banking, internet architecture, software development, restaurants, medical device manufacturing, tire manufacturing and distribution, trucking, food distribution, aviation and commercial real estate. Prior to joining The Wolf Law Firm, P.C., Mr. Donohue was a trial associate in the Dallas offices of Thompson & Knight, LLP (2001 – 2003) and Baker Botts L.L.P. (2003 – 2010).
Mr. Donohue is experienced in handling high-exposure, news-worthy and international matters. Mr. Donohue had significant involvement in securing Indonesian natural gas rights for a Canadian client, protecting intellectual property rights for a North Texas medical device manufacturer and defeating claims of government corruption and misappropriation of trade secrets related to a South American natural resource project. Mr. Donohue, as lead trial counsel for a Metroplex frozen yogurt franchisor, prevailed on summary judgment by both obtaining judgment on behalf of his client and defeating competing counterclaims in a bet-the-company case. Mr. Donohue then served as lead appellate counsel when the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals affirmed the trial court’s decision. (Yumilicious Franchise, L.L.C. v. Barrie, 819 F.3d 170, 177 (5th Cir. 2016)).
Mr. Donohue also has extensive experience in defending construction defect, personal injury and wrongful death cases. Mr. Donohue has handled a variety of commercial contractual disputes involving franchisor/franchisee disputes, non-compete agreements, the medical care industry and asset purchase agreements. Mr. Donohue has also helped clients pursue and defend cases under the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act.
Mr. Donohue represents clients in commercial litigation, personal injury/wrongful death lawsuits, franchise litigation, construction litigation and oil and gas disputes.
Mr. Donohue received undergraduate degrees in Accounting and Management from Texas A&M University. He received his law degree magna cum laude from the Dedman School of Law at Southern Methodist University. Mr. Donohue was a member of the SMU Law Review and served as the Symposium Editor for the Journal of Air Law and Commerce’s Air Law Symposium. Mr. Donohue was elected to the Phi Delta Phi honor fraternity and received the Order of the Coif distinction.
Mr. Donohue is a member of the Tarrant County Bar Association, the State Bar of Texas and the Bar Association of the Fifth Federal Circuit. He also served as an Assistant District Attorney for Dallas County under the Lawyer on Loan program. Mr. Donohue has volunteered for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program and the Housing Crisis Legal Clinic.
